CLICK HERE TO DONATE TO ZERO PROSTATE CANCER

Story

These words hit like a freight train. "You have cancer." But instead of letting them define me–I told my wife, Katy, my fiercest supporter, that even with my diagnosis, I wanted to be bolder and I wanted to ride my bike 11,000 miles around the perimeter of the United States of America. And guess what? I DID IT!

On June 15th, 2024 I completed my journey, pedaling through 34 states and crossing the finish line at Itasca State Park in Minnesota where an unforgettable celebration awaited me.

Since my diagnosis in 2017, I’ve battled aggresive prostate cancer–undergoing surgery, relentless treatments, and the ongoing fight to  'beat-back' the disease. At this time, it is in my bones, but I battle one.  Through it all, Katy has been by my side, cheering me on. This journey has been more than just miles on a bike. It’s been about raising awareness about an epidemic claiming the lives of too many men. It’s been about resilience and faith.

I hope it serves as a wake-up call to all Men over the age of 40. Don’t wait to get your PSA test..  It's a simple - blood test that can save your life. Don’t wait! Even if you feel fine, prostate cancer can be silently spreading. If caught early, it’s highly treatable. If aggressive, like mine, early detection is everything. Women, encourage the men in your life to get tested. Don’t let them brush it off.

My wife, Katy, and I live by these words: "I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me."

And now, it’s my turn to be the cheerleader–because this October, Katy is competing in the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Life is about pushing limits, showing up for each other, and never backing down. Keep fighting, Keep moving forward because that is what we will continue to do—raising awareness on Capitol Hill, sharing my story so more men hear, more men know that early detection saves lives.

CONGRATULATIONS!
